If we look and examine closely Putin’s State of the Nation speech on Thursday, contrary to the controversial opinions expressed by these pundits, If there’s one thing that really stands out from this speech, how Russia could be integrated in global capitalism following the plethora of sanctions imposed by the US and the European Union following the Ukraine proxy war. Exactly as did China under the leadership of Deng Xiao Ping who smoothly transformed the communist Maoist China into disguised capitalism and connected the Chinese economy to global capitalism. Unfortunately for the peace in the world, the then two communist global powers that played key role in International relations and geopolitics and to moderate the appetite of unbridled western hegemony and its endless wars of aggression since the collapse of the USSR, become a mere economic and mercantile competitors looking for the way to do business as usual not to change the balance of power between the West and the rest of the world. It will be improbable that balance of power could shift in favour of Russia or China as today dominant currency, the US dollar represents 88% of total currencies exchanged daily all over the world and this US dollar hegemony will continue even for a decade.

Putin’s revisionist history
A pundit noted that Putin’s knowledge of history and geopolitics and his ability to recall them was impressive to watch. -Tucker-Putin interview is but a public relations exercise used by the Russian president to please to the West, to sell formatted image to the Americans. The first question that comes to mind is “which kind of history Putin is speaking about”? the answer to that question is Putin, a former KGB’s officer in East Germany was turned politician thanks to Boris Yeltsin, the man who transformed a global power, the USSR, into a mere US colony. As a mere politician whose job is to keep the power as long as possible, looking to please both to the anti communist West and the heirs of Gorbachev and Yeltsin, Putin is reciting only the Post Soviet revisionist and anti communist historiography and defamation of the real and genuine history of Russia from 1917 to 1991. In sum, Putin’s history is not the real history that occurred between 1917 and 1991 but ideological and political history, a revisionist history similar to the revisionist history rewritten by the West comparing Hitler to Stalin, hailed as the man who defeated Nazism and liberated the European continent from the yoke of a racist and bloody regime, was depicted as a monster and even making the USSR responsible for the outbreak of the WWII. When we come to the geopolitics, one can say Russia in the post Soviet era ceased to be a global major player having its word in the world politics because the dreamed goal of United states to crush the USSR has been realized without Colour revolution nor atomic bomb by luring and deceiving the naïve Gorbachev by vague promises comparable to the Minsk agreements in 2015, stratagem used by the West to buy time and to strengthen neo nazi in Kiev 10 years ago. The evidence that Russia post Soviet ceased to be a major player in global politics, NATO’s expansion eastwards since 2004 whose member states were passed from 16 to 30 in 2022 and since 32. The second evidence that post Soviet Russia became insignificant player in global politics and geopolitics is the numerous Colour revolutions fomented by the United states and its European proxies aimed at regime change in the ex Soviet republics. The third evidence that post Soviet Russia era ceased to play key role in geopolitics is the advent of neo nazi regime in Ukraine without any reaction from the current Russian leadership. If Russia today escaped the faith reserved to the ex Yugoslavia, Iraq, Syria and Libya, it is thanks to the atomic bomb whose first production in 1949 was ordered by Stalin, a dissuasive weapon serving as a deterrent and counterweight to the US Manhattan project planning to wipe out 76 Soviet major cities following the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945. North Korea supported since its inception by the USSR learned the lesson by building and acquiring the atomic weapon as a powerful deterrent against US imperialism which was unfortunately not the case of ex-Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and Syria.
Putin’s anti communist impulse
“we have every reason to affirm that Ukraine is an artificial state that was shaped at Stalin’s will, » Putin explained. Putin’s reasoning is clearly false because it is not the will of only one man that the current states were shaped but the history and by the wars and geopolitics. In the case of the present NATO’s proxy war in Ukraine, it is unthinkable that Stalin would passively observe NATO’s expansion eastwards since 2004 and particularly since the neo coup in Kiev in 2014 without counteracting and pushing away the continuing progress of the western hostile forces near the Russian borders. It is unthinkable that Stalin would blindly trust the West and await 8 years before discovering that Russia has been lured and deceived by the Mink agreements used by the West as stratagem to allow Kiev regime to build fortifications and to kill 14000 Russian speaking people in Donbass. It is unthinkable that Stalin should tolerate the establishment of neo nazi regime in kiev without doing something to get rid of. We can say without contradicting oneself that not only Ukraine is an artificial state but all the states composing currently the United nations are artificial states too. Crimea and Moldavia(ex Bessarabia) were part of the Ottoman empire and they have been annexed by Tsarist Russia following continuing wars between these two empires. If we follow Putin’s reasoning one can say that Crimea and Moldavia should be returned to Turkey. Poland disappeared twice from the map before its reborn in the beginning of the XX century. The United states is a artificial state as a major part of its territory was former Spanish colonies. African, the Balkan and the Middle east states are artificial states too. The current European states were shaped by Napoleon’s wars. The French Alsace and Lorraine should be returned to the current Germany and Austria because they were part of the holy Germanic Empire. Corsica was taken by Napoleon from Genoa and all French southern regions were part of Catalonia annexed by the wars. All Latin American states were shaped by the Spanish colonization. That is why Putin’s reasoning about the making of Ukraine by the will of only one man so called is clearly false provoked by what Michael Parenti called the “Anti communist Impulse”
Putin and NATO’s eastwards expansion
« And each time we expressed our concerns, we were told: well, yes, we promised you that NATO would not expand eastward, but these were verbal promises, namely, where is the piece of paper with our signature on it? There is no such paper, so goodbye. You see, it’s very difficult to have a dialogue with such people, » the Russian president noted. We may wonder why Putin awaited 22 years to finally decide to stop NATO’s expansion eastward. Popular proverb says ”better late than never”, the Russian inertia to prevent NATO’s strategy of encirclement of Russia has entailed in this time a heavy cost for the Russian people and particularly to the Russian speaking populations in the Donbass who already have paid a high price since the nazi coup in Kiev exactly 10 years ago and they continue just now to endure huge sufferings. One can blame Putin for his inertia and for his no decision to stop NATO’s expansion starting in 2004, but, to be balanced in our judgment on the man, Putin was operating in a very difficult and complex environment inside Russia becoming a mere western colony with Boris Eltsin and outside with the full triumph of what Francis Fukuyama called the “end of the history”, that is the victory and the superiority of economic, ideological and political model, the so called western pluralistic democracy championed by the United States and its European proxies becoming the leader of what was falsely called the “Free world”,” a perfect dictatorship for Aldous Huxley), making believe that the victorious West was carrying a divine mission, making the world safe for democracy, no matter the heavy cost in human lives and material destructions, by unleashing their bloody crusade all over the world specially in the Middle East region starting in Iraq in 1991,bombing Serbia during 78 days from March to June 1999,breaking it up into warring religious and ethnical parties, invading Afghanistan in 2001 under the fallacious pretext of fighting the terrorism, invading sovereign state, Iraq, leaving dead hundreds of thousands of civilian and millions of displaced people, the break up of the then prosperous African nation, Libya in 2011 allowing the oil multinationals to steal with complete impunity its soil wealth , failed attempt of regime change in Syria in 2011 thanks to Russian support by using proxy brut forces, the jihadist mercenaries, and last but not least, NATO’s proxy war in Ukraine supported by neo nazi groups who toppled democratically elected president Yanukovych and killed thousands of Russian speaking populations since 2014 To all these reasons must be added economic factors, Russian integration in global capitalism, the dependence and the domination of Russia by American and European capital and the supply of European economy by Russian cheap energy that allowed the European bloc to emerge as rival competitor to the USA and China. These numerous elements, political, economic and geopolitical are likely provide rational and comprehensive explanations of Russia inertia and the main reasons why Russia didn’t take the appropriate measures to stop NATO’s expansion eastwards
Putin’s eve year speech
Through Putin’s full 2024 New Year’s Eve speech, one can feel that Russia goes through critical period and once more is facing new challenges, even the biggest challenge since the WWII, maintaining united and multiethnic Russia threatened by division and breaking up by the collective West planning to apply its previous and nefarious strategy by shattering enemy countries into pieces, according to the principle of divide and rule, towards coveted and disobedient states and peoples refusing foreign diktat as it was the case with the USSR, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, and Syria. While the same collective West didn’t hesitate in the past and doesn’t hesitate today, to group, to unite countries and create military alliance in order to achieve its military and geopolitical goals. In 1949, the US created NATO to fight the USSR and international communism all over the world according to the Truman and Churchill doctrine and the same military alliance that should have been dissolved following promise of James Baker to Gorbachev, is still fighting Russia today. The United states didn’t hesitate to violate the laws of geography and history by creating separate and antagonistic political and economic bloc, the European Union which was at its origin, Nazi project, directed against Russia. One can observe the same strategy and trend of grouping countries for hegemonic imperatives and geopolitical goals when it comes to Asia Pacific region by forming military, economic and political blocs and alliances against China in violation of the laws of geography and history of this part of the world.
Addressing the participants of the Primakov Reading in Moscow, Putin stated that winds of change is being underway in International relations as the world became fairer, more democratic and oriented towards multipolarity. We have to understand by the meaning of fairer, more democratic and multipolarity uttered by Russian president. By observing closely the current state of world, one can say without contradicting himself that global capitalism, that is big corporations and multinationals continue to rule the entire globe, by imposing their propre agenda on the states, on the politicians and their controlled media. So, till now, no new under the sun. When Putin said that fairer, more democratic and multipolarity, he is probably thinking about the BRICS, demographic weight of its members, mainly China and India which both represent nearly more than 20% of world populations, and 37% of global GDP. The BRICS members states have neither the intention nor the force to change the international relations as its members are looking only to increase their cake-sharing and to divide the pie with the United States and Europe. The BRICS is not at all a political organization able to propose alternative to the western system of rules-based order. The BRICS members states continue to actively participate in the political and economic international institutions created by the Accords of Bretton Woods in 1944 committed to work inside the United Nations organization, a mere tool of the West used as convenient cover to fight regimes refusing to keel and to obey the orders emanating the United States and its European proxies. Two examples can show that Putin’s excessive optimism for fairer, more democratic world and multilateralism is not correct and is not appropriate this time. After the launch of Russian military special operation, February 24, 2022, the BRICS member states have ambiguous posture and they didn’t take clear position by fully supporting and even by military means, one of its members, against NATO’s proxy war in Ukraine. While the collective West operated harshly against Russia by imposing more than 19000 sanctions against Russia, instrumentalizing regional and international organizations in support for Kiev nazi regime and even pushing the International criminal Court to issue international warrant against Vladimir Putin for being “kidnaping” Ukrainian children while the aim of Russian intervention was to save Donbass civilian populations targeted and murdered by Kiev regime since 2014. Second example, following Hamas’s surprise attack, the collective west gave carte blanche, free hand to its protected colony in the Middle east to exterminate with total impunity the civilian populations of the Gaza Strip and to destroy its civilian infrastructure. The BRICS member states seem to be powerless to oppose Israeli war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity and to use regional and international organizations for action against Israeli genocidal regime and by the way requesting the International justice to try Israeli war criminals and to hold accountable its western backers as accomplices.
Remarks on Reuniification Day
In this Reunification Day, some remarks are necessary. the integration of these 4 regions and Crimea into the Russian federation was the right decision to be made in these circumstances as the Donbass civilians were massacred by the Kiev regime since the coup of 2014 staged by neo nazi groups supported by the United States and the European Union with two main objectives : looting Ukraine natural and mineral wealth on the one hand and completing the encirclement of Russia by NATO. The launch in 2022 of the special military operation was undeniably the right decision take by Putin but it was too late. By not overthrowing Kiev regime in 2014, Putin gave enough time to Kiev and its masters in Washington to strengthen its army, building fortifications on the frontlines making major cities more resistant to Russian assaults, increasing by the way Russian victims. For not intervening in Ukraine to nip in the bud the new Kiev regime in 2014,Putin allowed the nazification of Ukrainian society, the increase and the spread of Russophobia among the Ukrainian populations mostly located in western Ukraine. last but not least, it seems that Putin, like before him Gorbatchev, was deceived by the West by accepting the Minsk agreements conceived according to Merkel and Hollande, as a mere deception aimed at giving Kiev regime to buy time in order to arm and to prepare the future war against Russia with the support of NATO. It is not clear why Putin didn’t overthrow Kiev regime in 2014 as the West has always done by fomenting colour revolutions and coups to get rid of recalcitrant and disobedient regimes.
Eastern Economic Forum & Africa
After the 2th summit Russia Africa in Saint Petersburg on July and its numerous agreements mostly in the security and military field aimed by Mali and Burkina Faso at fighting djihadists merceneraires in the Sahel region, and the veto opposed by Russia at the UNSC the extension of sanctions against Mali,Putin’s speech at the Eastern economic Forum in Vladivostock, by evoking a chapter of Black book of western colonialism in Africa, sent subliminal message to Africains that Russia Today will continue the legacy of the Soviet Union by providing all kinds of support and that after decades of absence or lack of interest for African continent, Russia will be back for help once more.
Following Russia’s special operations in Ukraine, NATO is using like in its previous wars in Yugoslavia and Libya, what we can call it,information bomb or non lethal weapons. NATO’s strategy of deception, propaganda and psychological warfare take root in Goebbels’s basic principles, propaganda minister for Hitler Third Reich. When reading these propaganda principles, keep in mind that they were applied in wartime (WWII) and involve issues that don’t arise otherwise. It’s a long list, but Goebbels was dealing with the complexity of an all-out war. While reading them you may realize that some of the principles are generally applicable and not limited to wartime. Some might be quite familiar today.
Those basic principles can be summarized as follow:
1 -Avoid abstract ideas – appeal to the emotions.
- Constantly repeat just a few ideas.
- Use stereotyped phrases.
4-Give only one side of the argument.
5-Continuously criticize your opponents.
6-Pick out one special « enemy » for special vilification.
The objectives to be achieved are :
- Hide economic and strategic interests at stake
- Obscure history of the conflict
- Demonize and transform victim into aggressor
- Monopolise the airwaves
- Prevent debate and silencing dissent
RUSSIA’S SECURITY CONCERNS AT THE ORIGINS OF PUTIN’S DECISION
- The starting point of Putin’s decision is the coup carried out in 2014 followed with all those events in Crimea and in the south-east of Ukraine, in the Donbass, where people did not support the coup
- The Kiev authorities began to conduct military operations on those territories. There were « two punitive operations » conducted, during which the squares of Donetsk were shelled directly, but both of those campaigns failed;
3-Afterwards, the Minsk Accords were signed, which showed a way to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Russia was trying to make the process develop in this direction, in order to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine and protect the interests of the people, who demanded most simple things: the right to speak their native Russian language and live within their own culture.
4- Instead, the Ukrainian authorities announced the blockade of these territories in response, disconnected them from the banking system, food supplies, pensions and benefits.
- Since 2014, between 13,000 and 14,000 people were killed in the Donbas during the years of the conflict, while the civilized West preferred not to notice that.
7-the Kiev authorities started declaring bluntly that they were not going to comply with the Minsk agreements. On top of that, they were accusing Russia of unwillingness to implement the Minsk agreements..
8-Then they started talking about Ukraine’s possible membership at NATO. In this case, other members of the alliance will have to support the country, which could spark a war between Russia and all of NATO.
9-To crown it all, Ukraine raised the topic about a possibility to acquire nuclear weapons. They said that Ukraine would receive support from across the ocean.
And from that moment on, the fate of Russia will be completely different. Because then Russia’s strategic adversaries do not even need to have intercontinental-range ballistic missiles. They would be able to keep us at gunpoint with nuclear weapons right here, and that was all.
The two main objectives of Russia’s special operations in Ukraine are : Denazification and demilitarization as the two main conditions to address Russia’s security concerns.
