The US,the biggest spying and surveillance Empire

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called the behavior of unidentified balloons over the United States an example of how China and Russia are increasing intelligence against the countries of the alliance.

On Monday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin, said the US has illegally flown its high-altitude balloons over Chinese airspace more than 10 times without Chinese authorities’ permission since the beginning of 2022 calling the US the world’s biggest « Spying Empire » This statement was made following the strike of Chinese civilian unmanned airship used mainly for meteorological research purposes which was taken down on February 4. In fact, the US is the world’s largest surveillance and reconnaissance country, with the largest global spying network, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.

Throughout 2021, U.S. and European “warships and planes carried out more than 2,000 close spying operations aimed at China,” including at the “coastal area of the Chinese mainland.” Although lavishly funded Western news agencies mysteriously found minimal opportunity to report on the incidents, the reader of the Asian press could have learned that Western “strike groups” in “the South China Sea” nearly doubled their activity since 2020—repeatedly to the protest of the Chinese and in fact most of Asia, though to the enthusiastic celebration of the Western liberal and humane press.

Since 2016, France has mobilized support for a European presence with annually rotating forces which have expanded with participation from a growing number of countries…The German frigate Bayern was deployed in the Indo-Pacific from August 2021 to February 2022 to conduct operations…and exercise with the navies of Australia, Singapore, Japan and the United States. Germany’s contribution was considered a key decision in forging French-German unity on building a permanent and effective European military presence in the Indo-Pacific. The United Kingdom has also delivered significant contributions to Indo-Pacific defense, decoupling a carrier strike group in 2021 and two warships permanently in 2022.

Recently, an unmanned US boat used to gather data underwater was discovered in the waters of Namibia. Local media generally believe that this unmanned boat is actually a US spy ship. The US has also frequently sent aircraft and warships to conduct close-in reconnaissance on China, with 657 flights in 2022 and 64 flights in the South China Sea in January this year alone.

The US’ National Security Agency (NSA) monitors the content of text messages and calls of political leaders in Germany, France, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and other European countries. The US secretly installed monitoring equipment in nearly 100 of its embassies and consulates abroad to steal secrets from the host country.

Ukraine’s proxy war : Origins and development of imperialist war explained by Historian Annie Lacroix Riz

On February 24,2022, Russia launched special military operation aimed at De-militarization and De-nazification of Ukraine. Russia blames the West for provoking a coup d’etat in 2014 which has overthrown democratically elected president Yanukovitch by color revolution led by nazi militants. The new regime has been installed thanks to the support of the USA, namely by Victoria Nuland and the European Union. Considering the new regime set up in Kiev as a western puppet, the Russian speaking populations in Donbass snubbed the new authorities and decided to take in hand their destiny by setting up independent administrations. It was the beginning of civil war that lasted eight years killing 15000 civilians.

The question that begs : why Ukraine? What are its core causes ? The answer is giving by leading French historian Annie Lacroix Riz explaining the origins and development of the ongoing conflict between Russia and the West.

THE ROOTS OF UKRAINE’S WAR

Like in all previous wars waged by the United States, its proxy allies and NATO, since the collapse of the USSR, it is the same strategy of deception implemented, aiming à brainwashing the masses in the West, making believe that their deadly and bloody wars of agression against targeted nations have only double objective :getting rid of vilain dictators who were massacring and killing their people, and making the world safe for democracy.

The current war in Ukraine provoked by NATO expansionism since the collapse of the Soviet Union on one hand and Maidan neo nazi coup in 2014 toppling democratically elected president who refused to bind to drastic conditions imposed by the USA,European Union and International Monetary Fund. The main architect of Maidan neo nazi coup was Victoria Nuland, wife of the neoconservative Paul Kagan. The Maidan coup was openly supported and financed by NATO as a way of undermining any Russian influence in Moscow’s own strategic environment. The aim was to make Ukraine a puppet state, commanded from Washington, ending any link with Russia. There was not only the objective to annihilate political, economic, and diplomatic relations between Kiev and Moscow, but also to eliminate cultural, ethnic, religious, and linguistic ties between both nations.

In the wake of Maidan coup d’etat, an anti-Russian junta took power and institutionalized a racist and anti-Russian ideology.Kiev’s coup in 2014 is but a contemporary copy of Hitler’s Berlin, but that the neo-Nazi element is a fundamental point of post-2014 Ukraine.

Following Maidan’s coup, neo nazi militias became  key points in the defense of the new Ukrainian regime. Groups such as the Azov Battalion, C14 and the armed militias of rightist parties such as Pravyy sektor and Svoboda operate freely in Ukraine and are most responsible for the extermination of ethnic Russians in the Donbass. The exaltation of Stepan Bandera (Ukrainian anti-Soviet nationalist leader who collaborated with Nazi Germany) is one of the symptoms of this. Before the Maidan, Bandera was a name like any other in Ukrainian history, but he came to be remembered and venerated as a national hero by neo-Nazis and anti-Russian politicians. These groups act with more violence and using more sophisticated equipment than the Ukrainian armed forces themselves, being the real face of Kiev’s anti-Russian brutality. As neo-Nazis, these militias have no obstacles in complying with the government’s objective of destroying any ties between Russians and Ukrainians.

The inspiration for Maidan neo nazi militias comes from the original Nazism: the Schutzstaffel (SS), one of the largest German armed political forces during the 1930s and 1940s, but the group was not part of the German Armed Forces, but a paramilitary militia instrumentalized by the government apart from the official troops. There was a major strategic objective with this: while the German military was commanded by the government, the SS fought for the Nazi Party and for Hitler – that is, if Germany surrendered, the SS would declare war on the German military. This type of “double-shielded” military system is the same one that Kiev has implemented: one can observe the same phenomenon in current war in Ukraine where neo nazi militias continue fighting the Russian forces in Kiev, in Dombass, in Mariopul and other regions albeit the entire destruction of Ukraine’s air forces.

Putin’s war over Ukraine is not war of agression like all NATO’s since 1991 mais it is the right response to denazify a neighbour country and to replace it a friendly regime. It is a measure that should be taken in coalition by several countries. In the West, Nazism has been rehabilitated and nazi groups and parties are encouraged as a mean to stand in the way of genuine left wing parties like in France with Le Pen. Russia is simply no longer willing to put up with crimes being committed by neo-Nazis against its people and there is nothing wrong with that decision

STOP CALLING THE CAPITALOCENE, AN ANTHROPOCENE

Representatives from nearly 200 countries are meeting in Kunming, China, to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. A COP15 is being hosted by China, but will be a mixture of in-person and virtual meetings. The meeting was meant to go ahead in 2020, but, well, 2020 happened. It will launch this week with further negotiations to occur in April and May next year. ll promised goals set from 2010 to 2020 — through the Aichi Biodiversity Targets — failed. Nature is being destroyed at a rate never before seen in human history, that rate is accelerating and almost all of the destruction, 1 million species could be lost, according to the most comprehensive report on the matter produced by the United Nations. More than 40 per cent of amphibian, 33 per cent of reef-forming corals and a third of all marine mammals are now threatened. According to the UN, climate change is one of the biggest causes of biodiversity loss. The biggest is changes in land use like clearing forests to make way for agriculture and mining. The next biggest is simply the direct exploitation of animals — like overfishing. Many people see nature as having an intrinsic value. But the loss of nature has a direct catastrophic impact on humanity too.

ANTHROPOCENE OR CAPITALOCENE ?

A man may take to drink because he feels himself to be a failure, and then fail all the more completely because he drinks. It is rather the same thing that is happening to the English language. It becomes ugly and inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish, but the slovenliness of our language makes it easier for us to have foolish thoughts. The point is that the process is reversible. Modern English, especially written English, is full of bad habits which spread by imitation and which can be avoided if one is willing to take the necessary trouble. If one gets rid of these habits one can think more clearly, and to think clearly is a necessary first step toward political regeneration: so that the fight against bad English is not frivolous and is not the exclusive concern of professional writers”(George Orwell, Politics and the English language,1946)

Media of propaganda routinely uses misleading names to manipulate and deceive the masses and to hide reality of political, economic and social system in which they are living. For example, through masquerading election organized at the Olympic interval, dictatorship has become democracy to hide the rule of minority over majority, security forces to hide the defense of established order, ministry of the war has become ministry of defense. The US ministry of endless wars has become Department of defense, all these misleading names are an illustration of how deeply the mindsets of the nation’s warfare state are embedded in the political culture of the United States.

The same media of propaganda is doing the same manipulation and decption of the masses about climate change, climatic warming and extinction of biodiversity, caused by the so called “human activities” The Anthropocene is a comforting story with uncomfortable facts. It fits easily within a conventional description – and analytical logic – that separates humanity from the web of life. Nature becomes a factor, a variable, a part of the story. This logic runs deep. It is a reflex, a part of our intellectual muscle memory. It shapes our thinking of planetary crisis and its origins, preconceptualizing humanity and nature as separate first, connected second. The dominant Anthropocene argument also nestles comfortably within a conventional narrative of modernity. The Industrial Revolution is understood as a set of technical, class, and sometimes political relations emerging around coal and steam.

The Anthropocene has become a wider conversation around humanity’s place in the web of life. The Anthropocene elides decisive questions of difference amongst humans, and the lancinate question of capitalist origins and historical capitalism as a world-ecology of power, capital, and nature, dependent on finding and co-producing what Jeson Moore called the cheap Natures, which is also the origins of ecological crisis.

Industrial revolution and origins of ecological catastrophe

Capitalism is based on the separation of Humanity and Nature. The violence inscribed in Nature/Humanity was there from the beginning. The era of primitive accumulation gave rise not only to the “accumulation of capital” but also a new world praxis: Cheap Nature.

Capitalism does, however, advance an epistemic rift: a rift about how humans organizations are embedded in nature. The heart of the problem is that Nature/Society dualism poses not only analytical barriers but reproduces “real world” systems of domination, exploitation, and appropriation. This ontological rift is the symbolic expression of the separation of the direct producers from the means of production. Together, these moments constituted the origins of capitalism not only as world-system but as ontological formation: as a world-ecology. Humanity/Nature is a doubly “violent” abstraction: violent in its analytical removal of strategic relations of historical change but also practically violent in enabling capitalism’s world-historical praxis – a praxis of cheapening the lives and work of many humans and most non-human natures. This is a praxis of domination and alienation operative simultaneously through the structures of capital, knowledge, and feeling.

BINARY VISION : WESTERN DEMOCRACY VERSUS AUTHORITARIAN CHINA ? (Part II)

WHAT DOES REALLY MEAN WESTERN DEMOCRACY ?

The brainwashed western elitism depicts the United States of America as the first and accomplished democracy in the world. This cliché becoming with time commonplace has been perpetuated through educational system chiefly in law schools dedicated to form and train the future on one side and political propaganda used as a powerful tool of manipulation by the wealthy and the ruling class to deceive the masses and to orient the choice of voters, propagandizing for subservient conservative and liberal candidates and parties who, once elected, would legislate in the best interests of big business and the monopolies.

BINARY VISION : WESTERN DEMOCRACY VERSUS AUTHORITARIAN CHINA ? (Part I)

President Biden will convene a mix of established democracies and “emerging” ones to summit for Democracy that will take place December 9 and 10. Biden had promised such an event early in his presidency as an answer to Trump and what he and other Democrats see as his predecessor’s undermining of democratic values and American leadership. The two-day gathering of world leaders, human rights groups and others will take place just short of the first anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by a pro-Trump mob seeking to overturn Biden’s election victory and install Trump for a second term. Putin will be invited to the summit but it is not clear whether Biden will include other leaders such as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan or Hungary’s Viktor Orban.

Biden’s summit for democracy against Trump’s coup

Both summits will bring together heads of state, civil society, philanthropy, and the private sector to “speak honestly about the challenges facing democracy so as to collectively strengthen the foundation for democratic renewal. On his European trip, which was capped by a summit with Putin, Biden said he wanted to prove that democracies can deliver better results for their people than autocracies, despite the sometimes slow and messy process of reaching compromise.

CHINA’S « AUTHORITARIANISM » IN THE CORSSHAIRS OF THE SUMMIT FOR DEMOCRACY

The Summit for Democracy will galvanize commitments and initiatives across three principal themes: defending against authoritarianism, fighting corruption, and promoting respect for human rights. The event is likely to be framed in large part as an attempt to unify democratic governments in opposition to China and its efforts to spread its economic, political and military influence. Biden focused much of his first foreign trip as president on a push to confront China. Meeting with the leaders of Group of Seven democracies and with members of the European Union and NATO in June, Biden sought to rally those alliances to confront Beijing. China is also mentioned specifically in Biden’s original campaign document pledging to hold the summit, in particular Beijing’s efforts to restrict free speech through control of technology and social media. Technology companies — which benefit from the fruits of democracy — should make concrete pledges for how they can ensure their algorithms and platforms are not empowering the surveillance state, facilitating repression in China and elsewhere,” Biden urged on his campaign website.

The event was initially envisioned as a marquee gathering, probably in Washington, where democratically elected leaders would symbolically stand together in defense of free elections, free speech and other shared values. Biden has often described his view of foreign affairs as a battle for the future between the world’s true democracies and authoritarian regimes.

When authoritarian regimes point out our imperfections, I think that misses the point, because we’re not claiming perfection,” the official said. “The summit is not about perfection. What we’re saying is, we don’t shrink from scrutiny. We are always trying to use our system to improve ourselves, and because of that, I think it gives democracy a kind of powerful resilience that other systems don’t have.”

The West calls for more agressive militarism against Russia

In Poland’s capital, Warsaw, took place the Warsaw Security Forum convened by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation (Fundacja im. Kazimierza Pułaskiego, FKP) presenting itself as independent, non-profit, and non-partisan think tank based in Warsaw, but it is in fact an Atlantist organization funded by NATO members and the EU with the main objective, disseminating anti Russian propaganda by exaggerating Russia’s threat used as pretext for arms race and more military spending.

Speaking at the the Warsaw Security Forum, an event organized by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation think tank, Polish President Andrzej Duda said Oct. 5 that closer ties between NATO and the EU are required to combat Russia’s military-driven expansionism : We need a strong partnership between NATO and the European Union that ensures a synergy of both organizations,” Duda said. “Russia is expanding its military presence and it endangers NATO not only from the east, but also from the north and south.”

Polish president Duda

The president’s remarks were echoed in the speech by Paweł Soloch, the head of Poland’s National Security Bureau.

There is an ongoing development of the military potential of the Russian Federation. On our part, this creates a need for a further adaptation of NATO’s capacities, also with the use of the instruments held by the European Union,” Soloch said. “Naturally, NATO has a significantly larger potential than Russia, but on the alliance’s borders, the forces accumulated by Russia give a tactical, and, for a defined time, also an operational advantage to this country.” He added, Europe “needs to have a single strategy that merges the potential of NATO and the European Union”

Croatia’s President Zoran Milanovic, Poland’s President Andrzej Duda and U.S. President Joe Biden pose for a family photo as part of the NATO summit at the Alliance’s headquarters, in Brussels, on June 14, 2021

Speaking during a panel at the Warsaw Security Forum on Wednesday, Lt. Gen. Tomasz Piotrowski, who leads Poland’s Armed Forces Operational Command, said the exercise enabled Moscow to test offensive measures against the alliance’s Eastern European members. The Polish commander has said Russia’s Zapad 2021 military drill with Belarus featured a wide range of hybrid warfare tools that Moscow is using to advance its regional influence.

NATO Headquarter in Brussels

According to Piotrowski, this year’s edition of Zapad “was bigger than Zapad 2020 and 2019 — not by the number of troops, but for sure by the capabilities that were used, types of units, such as airborne, special forces, maritime and others.”

RUSSIA AND BELARUS ZAPAD 21

The Russian military “announced already in January 2021 that the Zapad exercise had begun. Land exercises will take place until October 2021,” he added.

Russian government news agency Tass reported July 2 that the country’s National Guard would hold the Zaslon 2021 drill later that month as part of the overarching Zapad exercise.

Putin and the defense minister during ZAPAD drill 2021

Russia’s Defence Ministry described the exercise as “strategic,” stating that more than 200,000 troops from Russia and Belarus participated.

However, Lt. Gen. Andreas Marlow, commander of the 1st German-Dutch Corps in Münster, Germany, said during the same panel that one of the challenges NATO faces is “a difference of threat perception.”

NATO’s STOOGES IN THE EASTERN EUROPE

Last May took place in Tapa, Estonia, large-scale exercise titled Spring Storm (Kevadtorm)  with the participation of NATO troops and the Estonian Defence Forces (EDF) Last May, we announced that, together with our neighbors Latvia and Lithuania we will buy the MLRS for our militaries,” Laanet told Defense News during the first day of the Warsaw Security Forum, an event organized by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation think tank. “My opinion is that the Baltic states should have common capabilities to fight, but also deter any aggressor, so that they have to take us seriously.”

WARSAW, Poland — Estonia is developing its defense capacities in response to Russia’s actions in the region, with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), air defense systems, coastal missile defense systems as well as unmanned and cyber defense capabilities ranking high in its acquisition plans, according to Estonian Defense Minister Kalle Laanet.

NATO’s presence in the eastern Europe

In 2017, Lithuania signed a deal with Norway’s Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace to acquire the network centric air defense system (NASAMS). Under Estonia’s National Defence Development Plan for the years 2017 to 2026, the country is also planning to purchase a similar short- to mid-range air defense system. New unmanned capacities for the Estonian armed forces, and investing in cyber defense capabilities, developed by Estonian company Milrem Robotics producing unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) that could be supplied to the country’s military. A pilot project to build unmanned vessels for the Estonian Navy. A consortium of defense companies has been put together, and the first vessel of this type is expected to be launched in 2026.

NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission was launched on 30 March 2004, one day after the three countries joined the alliance. Today, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania still depend on other allies, as they lack their own fighters that could be deployed to such missions.

UK’s MILITARISM IN EUROPE AND THE INDO PACIFIC REGION

The chairman of a parliamentary defense panel Tobias Ellwood insists London is not losing sight of its own backyard in Europe, and therefore should increase defense spending We don’t have the luxury to work independently given the challenges we all face,” Tobias Ellwood told Defense News during the second day of the Warsaw Security Forum, an event organized by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation think tank. He added that London is intensifying efforts to boost its space and cyber capacities “But we also need a bigger Navy, and we are investing in it.”

Tobias Ellwood

However, more funds are also required to expand the U.K.’s capabilities in other fields amid cuts to some programs. Budget cuts have already forced the country to reduce its initial F-35 fighter jet order from 138 to 48 aircraft, he noted, and the British-led effort for a sixth-generation combat jet, dubbed Tempest, is still in flux. BAE Systems is developing the aircraft in partnership with Leonardo UK, Rolls-Royce and MBDA UK.

Britain is only spending 2 percent of its [gross domestic product] on defense. But the threats ahead are collectively greater than the ones from the Cold War when we were spending 4 percent,” Ellwood said
