the United nations criticized by Erdogan

Erdogan criticized the United Nations as ineffective organization and the 15- nation Security Council including five members enjoying veto right, by turning blind eye to the suffering of the Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip. This international organization created in 1945 in the aftermath of the WWII in the footsteps of deceased League of Nations created by the victors of the WWI, is not a neutral body working for the peace in the world, it is but a mere tool into the hands of colonialist and imperialist West, used as legal cover to maintain unfair International order and legitimization of western hegemonic and endless wars against weak and nations coveted for their underground wealth and their strategic locations. Let us take Libyan example showing how the United Nations and the Security Council are puppet of the West supported by its proxies in the Middle East, in Africa and Latin America were giving free hand to NATO to destroy the then prosperous African nation and to murder its longtime leader, Kadaffi who, in his remarkable address to the United Nations in 2009 during the world body’s 64th General Assembly in New York, called for an African seat on the Security Council, waving a copy of the UN charter, denouncing the permanent setup of the Security Council which he says encourages the treatment of other countries as “second-class citizens”.“It is political feudalism for those who have a permanent seat … It should not be called the Security Council, it should be called the terror council. It did not provide us with security but with terror and sanctions,” he said as he ripped a page out of the charter in a show of defiance.

Adding “Permanent is something for God only. We are not fools to give the power of veto to great powers so they can use us and treat us as second-class citizens … Veto power should be annulled,” he added before tossing the UN charter over his shoulder.

Among his demands, he called for the relocation of the United Nations headquarters to Libya to avoid jet lag and insecurity in reference to the September 11, 2001 al-Qaeda attack in New York.

Gaddafi wanted the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King to be thoroughly investigated and proposed that Israel and the Palestine be transformed into a single state called Isratine. He called for the trial of those who “caused mass murder” in Iraq. He demanded 7.7 trillion dollars as reparation for colonialism in Africa.

No one is fooled by Erdogan’s yelling as his country, Nato member state, supported the West in the destruction of Libya and even he was helping to destroy Syria and tried to do the same thing through NO FLY ZONE opposed this time by the 2 permanent members of the Security Council, Russia and China.

Courageous Craig Mokhiber who resigned from the UN Human rights

Craig Mokhiber, former director of the UN high Commissioner of Human Rights resigned from his post on November 1. One can only welcome this courageous position of a high ranking official working for 32 years within the UN. This testimony of Mr Mokhiber is very precious as it can be used in the future as evidence to be filed against Israeli’s war criminals starting by the PM Netanyahu and ven if there is a real International justice, the western leaders who became guilty and accomplices of Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian civilians. When Craig Mokhiber accuses Israel for committing a genocide in the Gaza Strip, as a lawyer expert in Humanitarian international law, he knows of what he is speaking about. In fact, what is going on in Gaza since one month, is a mere genocide as pointed out by Mokhiber who, in addition, reveals the mere submission of the United Nations to the very powerful international Jewish lobbies preventing any serious action to take against Israel and to apply the numerous resolutions voted in the UN since 1967.

Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights accuses Israel of war cimes

UN OHCHR Says Israel Commits War Crimes in Gaza Strip through the blockade and bombing of densely populated areas is a war crime, Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said on Friday. Antonio Guteress, secretary general of the UN was very lenient towards Israel when he said « The relentless bombardment of Gaza by Israeli forces, the level of civilian casualties, and the wholesale destruction of neighborhoods continue to mount and are deeply alarming. » While he is lamenting on the faith of the Gazans, Guteres didn’t call to a cease fire. Guteres didn’t call for investigation on Israel crimes wars in the Gaza Strip. Guteress and UNSC didn’t request the international criminal court to investigate Israeli crimes, to issue arrest warrants and to try Israeli Israel for war crime by depriving residents of the Gaza Strip of basic goods, electricity and water, and bombing of densely populated areas. while the same ICC was huried to issue arerst wanrants in the case of former Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic, Cost Ivoiry Laurent Gabgbo, Omar Bechir, Kaddafi, Assad, and recently in the case of Putin accused of of kidnapping Ukrainian children whereas he was actually saving them from the bombing and rocket attacks of neo-Nazi Ukrainian forces that have been ongoing since 2014 and have killed 14,000 people. It is worth reminding that the united Nations, which are but a mere tool of US hegemony voted the resolution of NO FLY ZONE in Libya in order to facilitate NATO’s bombing and destruction of the then prosperous nation leading to the murder of its longtime leader Kadaffi

Guteres tackles Israel for humanitarian disaster in Gaza

As was rightly stated by the General Secretary of the United Nations, Gueteres,  Israel is not ready to abide to the numerous resolutions voted by the United Nations and allow the Palestinians to create their own state according to the International law. Gueteress blamed Israel for violating the Humanitarian International law by committing mass killing of the Palestinian civilians rising to more than 5000 victims including more than 2000 children not to mention the full destruction of infrastructures, not to mention the embargo leading to the starving of thousands of Gazans etc. Israel and its western backers continue to call through their subservient mainstream media, the right of Israel to defend itself. Only a crazy man or senile like the man occupying of the White house can utter that kind of nonsense. The current Arab states in the Middle East, emerged in the same time than the Jewish states, following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the Accords of the infamous Sykes-Picot and Versailles treaty, aimed at dividing this region between the two colonialist powers, the British Empire and France, seem to be inert sinking into a comatose state due to their servile dependence of the United States and Europe. They are seeing the Palestinians slaughtered by the Jewish state without any effective reactions to help their so called brothers and neighbours. Yet, they have a fearsome weapon able to shame the western backers of their protected state, this weapon is the oil which can be used like in 1973 following Yon Kippour war. It suffices to turn off the tap, cut off embargoing the oil to Europe for only one week, and you will see how Israel and its western backers will become hysteric after depriving them from the very source feeding their industries and their dependent economy. The African states which were suffering centuries of pillage of their agricultural and mineral wealth caused by the western colonization, similar to today Palestinians oppression by the West and its creature, can contribute to kneel the butchers of Gaza Strip by embargoing the raw materiels used by European processing industries to produce commodities for domestic market. The idea that Africa countries could help Palestinians in their struggle against Israel was uttered by the late revolutionary Burkinabe leader Thomas Sankara during his speech ahead the General Assembly of the united Nations on October 4, 1984, telling the present delegations, such statement of burning news must be meditated  “My country is the essence of all the miseries of peoples, a tragic synthesis of all the suffering of mankind but also, and above all, the synthesis of the hopes of our struggles. That is why I speak out on behalf of the sick who are anxiously looking to see what science can do for them–but that science has been taken over by the gun merchants. My thoughts go to all those who nave been affected by the destruction of nature, those 30 million who are dying every year, crushed by that most fearsome weapon, hunger.

As a soldier, I cannot forget that obedient soldier who does what he is told, whose finger is on the trigger and who knows that the bullet which is going to leave his gun will bring only a message of death.

Lastly, I speak out in indignation as I think of the Palestinians, whom this most inhuman humanity has replaced with another people, a people who only yesterday were themselves being martyred at leisure. I think of the valiant Palestinian people, the families which have been splintered and split up and are wandering throughout the world seeking asylum. Courageous, determined, stoic and tireless, the Palestinians remind us all of the need and moral obligation to respect the rights of a people. Along with their Jewish brothers, they are anti-Zionists.”

THE UN, double standard and deadly organization

Lavrov’s speech is very important for student in international relations as he can learn something about relationships between states per definition equal within the United Nations organisation. But the real background of international relations lies on power relations and on the supremacy of western powers which created in the aftermath of the WWI the League of Nations used to legitimize and perpetuate the hegemony of the West following the dismantlement of old empires such as Ottoman Empire, Austro Hungarian empire, Tsarist Russian empire, by imposing the purported principle of self determination. Except the period of the USSR playing a counterweight to western hegemony, from 1945 to 1991, the UN was but a mere tool into the hands of the USA and its European and no European vassals, used to legitimize their endless wars and to punish through deadly economic sanctions like in Iraq after the first Gulf war in 1991, recalcitrant and disobedient regimes mostly in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Lavrov accused the United Nations of double standard in international relations, but the double standard is not new, it is inherent to the very functioning of this organisation. in his historical speech on september 19, 2007, former Libyan leader Muammar Kadafi called for the relocation of the UN and the abolition of the Security Council, the same body that voted the resolution of NO FLY ZONE in 2011 leading to NATO’s aggression against Libya and the murder of Kadaffi himself in October of that year.

US LONG HISTORY OF PLOTS AND CONSPIRATIONNISM

Colin Powell, former US Secretary of State, who has died at the age of 84, became the laughingstock of anti-war organizations by holding a vial of anthrax-like powder, telling the world on February 5,2003 at the United Nations that Saddam might have tens of thousands of liters of anthrax, showing how Iraqi jets could spray that anthrax and how mobile laboratories are being used to concoct new weapons. But Colin Power illustrates also the case of Machiavellian and cynical imperialism which not hesitate to use all kinds of stratagems to achieve its goals. Iraq like all rich-oil regions of the Middle East with their untapped and huge rerserve, was coveted by the USA and its European satellites.

Early US overseas expansionism under the guise of the Monroe Doctrine (1823)

Since its inception, the United States of America has resorted to conspirationnism as means of colonialism and imperialism. To carve out spheres of influence in Latin America, the Monroe Doctrine was first conspiratorial doctrine introduced in 1823 by President James Monroe in his annual message to Congress, becaming the United States’ primary foreign policy document, declaring the Western Hemisphere closed from European colonization or intervention. Any breach of the Monroe Doctrine would be a threat to the United States. The Monroe Doctrine deeply effected Latin American countries especially in Cuba, Mexico, Gran Colombia, and the Falkland Islands.

US plots under the guise of humanitarian imperialism and Manifest Destiny

To overcome and recover from the depression of the 1890s, manufacturers, industrials, farmers, merchants and most other entrepreneurial sections supported by political establishment conservatives, liberals and Democrats agreed on overseas expansionism and conquest of foreign markets. To justify US imperialism, annexation and invasions, was invented the ideology of “Manifest destiny” which became the catchword of the republican platform of 1892, used by the expansionists in 1893 to annex Hawaii. In 1893 was signed a treaty annexing the Hawaiian Islands, 2000 miles miles removed from the American continent. President Grover Cleveland is considered as the promotor of the “Manifest Destiny” Doctrine as he deployed ships of the United States Navy to defeat the Brazilian Revolution of 1893 in a way that helped defeat the rebels who were opposed to unequal economic relations with America.

In 1893, the United States plotted against Hawaii’s Anglophile Queen Lliliuokalani accused of anti-foreign tendencies and turning the country toward Great Britain when American Minister to Hawaii, John L. Stevens permitted the landing of American marines in support for rebels. Later the allegation that Hawaii was in danger of falling under foreign control, there was adduced no substantial evidence of acquisitive designs by Great Britain or any other power. The treaty of annexation was negotiated in 1897 after Republicans being returned to power by McKinley’s victory in 1896.

In Philippines, the United States lured the insurgent leader Aguinaldo when Americans had promised him support for Philippine Independence as a reward for his solicited military assistance; After Aguinaldo had effectively rendered his assistance he was duped and disillusioned as his promised new republic and all his political pretensions ignored. Aguinaldo protested bitterly against the forcible annexation which now seemed to him designed by the “cold and calculating thoughts of the sons of the North”. He was captured by the Americans led by Brig. Gen. Frederick Funston on March 23, 1901 in remote Palanan, Isabela Province. On April 1, 1901, he pledged allegiance to the United States.

STOP CALLING THE CAPITALOCENE, AN ANTHROPOCENE

Representatives from nearly 200 countries are meeting in Kunming, China, to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. A COP15 is being hosted by China, but will be a mixture of in-person and virtual meetings. The meeting was meant to go ahead in 2020, but, well, 2020 happened. It will launch this week with further negotiations to occur in April and May next year. ll promised goals set from 2010 to 2020 — through the Aichi Biodiversity Targets — failed. Nature is being destroyed at a rate never before seen in human history, that rate is accelerating and almost all of the destruction, 1 million species could be lost, according to the most comprehensive report on the matter produced by the United Nations. More than 40 per cent of amphibian, 33 per cent of reef-forming corals and a third of all marine mammals are now threatened. According to the UN, climate change is one of the biggest causes of biodiversity loss. The biggest is changes in land use like clearing forests to make way for agriculture and mining. The next biggest is simply the direct exploitation of animals — like overfishing. Many people see nature as having an intrinsic value. But the loss of nature has a direct catastrophic impact on humanity too.

ANTHROPOCENE OR CAPITALOCENE ?

A man may take to drink because he feels himself to be a failure, and then fail all the more completely because he drinks. It is rather the same thing that is happening to the English language. It becomes ugly and inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish, but the slovenliness of our language makes it easier for us to have foolish thoughts. The point is that the process is reversible. Modern English, especially written English, is full of bad habits which spread by imitation and which can be avoided if one is willing to take the necessary trouble. If one gets rid of these habits one can think more clearly, and to think clearly is a necessary first step toward political regeneration: so that the fight against bad English is not frivolous and is not the exclusive concern of professional writers”(George Orwell, Politics and the English language,1946)

Media of propaganda routinely uses misleading names to manipulate and deceive the masses and to hide reality of political, economic and social system in which they are living. For example, through masquerading election organized at the Olympic interval, dictatorship has become democracy to hide the rule of minority over majority, security forces to hide the defense of established order, ministry of the war has become ministry of defense. The US ministry of endless wars has become Department of defense, all these misleading names are an illustration of how deeply the mindsets of the nation’s warfare state are embedded in the political culture of the United States.

The same media of propaganda is doing the same manipulation and decption of the masses about climate change, climatic warming and extinction of biodiversity, caused by the so called “human activities” The Anthropocene is a comforting story with uncomfortable facts. It fits easily within a conventional description – and analytical logic – that separates humanity from the web of life. Nature becomes a factor, a variable, a part of the story. This logic runs deep. It is a reflex, a part of our intellectual muscle memory. It shapes our thinking of planetary crisis and its origins, preconceptualizing humanity and nature as separate first, connected second. The dominant Anthropocene argument also nestles comfortably within a conventional narrative of modernity. The Industrial Revolution is understood as a set of technical, class, and sometimes political relations emerging around coal and steam.

The Anthropocene has become a wider conversation around humanity’s place in the web of life. The Anthropocene elides decisive questions of difference amongst humans, and the lancinate question of capitalist origins and historical capitalism as a world-ecology of power, capital, and nature, dependent on finding and co-producing what Jeson Moore called the cheap Natures, which is also the origins of ecological crisis.

Industrial revolution and origins of ecological catastrophe

Capitalism is based on the separation of Humanity and Nature. The violence inscribed in Nature/Humanity was there from the beginning. The era of primitive accumulation gave rise not only to the “accumulation of capital” but also a new world praxis: Cheap Nature.

Capitalism does, however, advance an epistemic rift: a rift about how humans organizations are embedded in nature. The heart of the problem is that Nature/Society dualism poses not only analytical barriers but reproduces “real world” systems of domination, exploitation, and appropriation. This ontological rift is the symbolic expression of the separation of the direct producers from the means of production. Together, these moments constituted the origins of capitalism not only as world-system but as ontological formation: as a world-ecology. Humanity/Nature is a doubly “violent” abstraction: violent in its analytical removal of strategic relations of historical change but also practically violent in enabling capitalism’s world-historical praxis – a praxis of cheapening the lives and work of many humans and most non-human natures. This is a praxis of domination and alienation operative simultaneously through the structures of capital, knowledge, and feeling.
