Putin and NATO’s eastwards expansion

« And each time we expressed our concerns, we were told: well, yes, we promised you that NATO would not expand eastward, but these were verbal promises, namely, where is the piece of paper with our signature on it? There is no such paper, so goodbye. You see, it’s very difficult to have a dialogue with such people, » the Russian president noted. We may wonder why Putin awaited 22 years to finally decide to stop NATO’s expansion eastward. Popular proverb says ”better late than never”, the Russian inertia to prevent NATO’s strategy of encirclement of Russia has entailed in this time a heavy cost for the Russian people and particularly to the Russian speaking populations in the Donbass who already have paid a high price since the nazi coup in Kiev exactly 10 years ago and they continue just now to endure huge sufferings. One can blame Putin for his inertia and for his no decision to stop NATO’s expansion starting in 2004, but, to be balanced in our judgment on the man, Putin was operating in a very difficult and complex environment inside Russia becoming a mere western colony with Boris Eltsin and outside with the full triumph of what Francis Fukuyama called the “end of the history”, that is the victory and the superiority of economic, ideological and political model, the so called western pluralistic democracy championed by the United States and its European proxies becoming the leader of what was falsely called the “Free world”,” a perfect dictatorship for Aldous Huxley), making believe that the victorious West was carrying a divine mission, making the world safe for democracy, no matter the heavy cost in human lives and material destructions, by unleashing their bloody crusade all over the world specially in the Middle East region starting in Iraq in 1991,bombing Serbia during 78 days from March to June 1999,breaking it up into warring religious and ethnical parties,  invading Afghanistan in 2001 under the fallacious pretext of fighting the terrorism, invading sovereign state, Iraq, leaving dead hundreds of thousands of civilian and millions of displaced people, the break up of the then prosperous African nation, Libya in 2011 allowing the oil multinationals to steal with complete impunity its soil wealth , failed attempt of regime change in Syria in 2011 thanks to Russian support by using proxy brut forces, the jihadist mercenaries, and last but not least, NATO’s proxy war in Ukraine supported by neo nazi groups who toppled democratically elected president Yanukovych and killed thousands of Russian speaking populations since 2014   To all these reasons must be added economic factors, Russian integration in global capitalism, the dependence and the domination of Russia by American and European capital and the supply of European economy by Russian cheap energy that allowed the European bloc to emerge as rival competitor to the USA and China. These numerous elements, political, economic and geopolitical are likely provide rational and comprehensive explanations of Russia inertia and the main reasons why Russia didn’t take the appropriate measures to stop NATO’s expansion eastwards

Latest US led coalition strike against Yemeni Houthis movement

“U.S. Central Command forces conducted a strike in self-defense against a Houthi anti-ship cruise missile prepared to launch against ships in the Red Sea. U.S. forces identified the cruise missile in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and determined it presented an imminent threat to U.S. Navy ships and merchant vessels in the region, » the US lastest strike targeting Houthis movement has nothing to do with a self defense, with the so called imminent threat to US navy ships and merchant vessels in the region. This statement is but a deception and mere lie as the Yemeni Houthis vowed to prevent only the passage in the Red Sea the ships and vessels loaded with of American missiles and ammunitions to its military base in the Middle East and to continue supplying the Israeli machine of war which is currently committing genocide and war crimes in Gaza killing about 30000 Palestinians without citing the huge material destruction inflicted to the civilian infrastructures. The latest strike has nothing to do with the protection of American interests as the three US hidden purposes are (1) the maintain of its political and economic hegemony in the Middle East region, (2) the continuing supply in weaponry and military equipment to its proxy state in this region, (3) the full control over the oil. Conversely, the launch of Russian military special operation in Ukraine in February 2022 can be called a preventive action aimed at preventing imminent threat to Russia and ultimately the destruction of the Russian federation comparable to the destruction of the Yugoslav federation as the United states and its European proxies have been in work to achieve their goal since the demise of the USSR. Otherwise how do we explain  NATO ‘s permanent expansion since the beginning of the 21th century whose member states passed from 16 in 2004 to 30 in the eve of the Russian military operation in 2022 plus two member states today ? Let us imagine a fictional scenario screening Russia had established 32 military bases in Cuba and near the borders of the US, what would be the reaction of the corrupt American political establishment ?

War and Morality

At least 18 civilians have been killed and 13 more wounded as a result of a Ukrainian shelling of Donetsk on Sunday as Ukrainian armed forces shelled Donetsk region 43 times in the last 24 hours, firing 161 projectiles.

It is not clear why Russia doesn’t deliver very severe strike to major Ukrainian cities, in particular Kiev inflicting huge destruction on both civilian and military facilities including killing civilians running counter to the proclaimed credo of Denis Pushlin and Russian military leadership naively seeking to spare civilian sufferings targeting only military facilities and infrastructures. While Pushlin and Putin are still keeping some moral in the ongoing NATO’s proxy war in Ukraine, Kiev regime forces and its western backers do not worry about moral and civilian lives as they continue to kill Russians and Russian speaking civilians in the Donbass. Russia must apply the credo in the war matter, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth without burdening oneself with moral principles. Following each shelling, the Donbass civilians are scared and they are asking themselves why Russia and Putin didn’t intervene in Ukraine 10 years ago, to prevent the establishment and the strengthening of Kiev neo nazi regime using the technique of regime change implemented by the US and its European proxies when it comes to get rid of disobedient and recalcitrant leaders and regimes as they did in Libya and Syria. In retrospect, Russia should have intervened not only the prevent the setting up of neo nazi regime in Kiev ten years ago but also it should have done something to prevent the expansion of NATO’s member states passing from 16 in 2004 to 30 in 2022 and 32 today. Of course one may wonder why Russia didn’t actively to prevent NATO ‘s expansion since 2004, it will be allowable to think that (1) Russia in 2004 and on was too weak to confront the West following Yeltsin’s disaster decade selling the Russian huge wealth to western multinationals in cooperation with the Russian compradore class and reducing the then global power of the USSR to the rank of western colony, (2) that the Russian president who took over the power in December 1999 was worrying with the building up of the economy and the strengthening of Russian military thanks to the state control over the two main resources, the gas and the oil before confronting the West

South Africa versus Israel before the International court of Justice

Invoking the Genocide convention of 1948 signed by Israel, South Africa brought the matter before the International Court of Justice and on January 11, 2024, started the hearing of the both disputed parties. The Israeli defender alleged that there is no genocide and that Jewish state only acted to defend itself by exterminating till new more than 30000 Palestinians without speaking of the huge material destruction in the Gaza Strip. The Genocide convention was established after the WWII by referring to the genocide of jews in Europe by Nazi regime. By following the inherent logic of Israeli party denying genocide in Gaza, one can say and argue the same thing without contradicting oneself that there was no genocide of Jews during the WWII as the Nazi regime was defending itself like Israel today against its enemies, the jews and the communists. South Africa that suffered the apartheid regime for decades deserves the esteem of the world but one cannot forget that the corrupt regime and president Jacob Zuma whose country which was a non permanent member of the Security Council voted, for Resolution 1973, allowing military intervention in Libya, a NATO-led coalition to conduct fierce airstrikes against Libyan armed forces and the assassination of Kadaffi on October 20, 2011. What is distressing no country in the Arab Muslim world didn’t dare to challenge Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinians in particular the corrupt regimes in the Middle East which all of them are slavish states and proxy countries manoeuvred by the United states. Margaret Kimberly blames Biden, Blinken and the ruling political establishment for participating in Israeli genocidal war through destructive bombs but she didn’t understand that American politicians are but extras, puppets manipulated by puppeteers, that is the US big capital and the militaro industrial complex in the service of American imperialism.

Insular Republic of Nauru to sever diplomatic relations with Taïwan

This is a geography and political lesson, broaden our knowledge, arousing our curiosity and informing that there are nation and state called NAURU island country located in Oceania, in the southwestern Pacific Ocean with population of 12 511 (2021), predominantly of Micronesian origin,  and area of 21 km², only 42 kilometres south of the equator and 4,000 kilometres northeast of Sydney. What is even more amazing the announcement made by the government as saying « The Government of the Republic of Nauru today announces that, in the best interests of the Republic and people of Nauru, we will be moving to the One-China Principle that is in line with UN Resolution 2758 which recognises the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as the sole legal Government representing the whole of China and seeking resumption of full diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China (PRC)” On the website of “Global times, one can read a Breaking news “ Nauru to sever “diplomatic relations” with TaIwan, government”, one can remark that the two words “diplomatic relations” put in inverted commas. That is China doesn’t take seriously this tiny insular state, as what matters to the popular Republic of China since Deng Tsiao Ping chairmanship who inserted China in the global capitalist market is the states with which on can make business as business as usual and that serve as opportunities for Chinese goods and investment in the infrastructure. Let us pray that Nauru Republic , this paradisiac Island,  stays away from the ravages of Chinese capitalism.

US secretary of war

The story of Austin’s hospitalization on January 1, the US secretary of so called defense, and the political media buzz that surrounds it, if it were not so tragic, it would be laughable. What it is more laughable, the American public must be kept informed of Austin’s health. Let us take first the term defense which is in fact inappropriate term, an euphemism to hid US endless wars. It is worth noticing that ill the end of the WWII, there was no secretary of defense, there was only secretary of war lasted from 1789 to 1947 1789 with Benjamin Lincoln and later Henry appointed Knox to serve as the early Secretary of War. In 1947, with the passing of the National security Act of 1947, the secretary of war was replaced by the secretary of Army and the secretary of Air which, along with the secretary of the Navy, have since 1949 been non-Cabinet subordinates under the secretary of defense, generally considered the direct successor to the secretary of war’s office although the secretary of defense took the secretary of war’s position in the Cabinet. The term defense must be exclusively used by states and countries victims of US endless wars such Russia, China, Iran, North Korea. When it comes to the American public, it is worth to precise that the so celled American public is reduced to amorphous mass, manipulated by the mass media of communications whose principal mission is brainwashing of the Americans to support genocidal US endless wars, for example, bombing Yugoslavia in 1999, invasion of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria

European sanctions against Russua, the Boomrang

President Putin was right when he predicted that foolish European bloc sanctions against Russia would return like a boomerang as the only victims are the ordinary people in particular the low income households unable to pay their bills to warm up and to cook. In order to see by your eyes the devastating effects of sanctions against Russia, suffice to go shopping in a supermarket by observing the waltz of labels as the prices exponentially increasing from day 1 to day 2  without the consumer even knowing that he is paying higher price for his products and goods because of irrational and thoughtless decisions of his own government. Everyone can compare the prices of items before and after the sanctions and logically one can conclude that such higher prices have been generated by the ban of Russian energy supplies. It is worth nothing that the growth of European economy and the emergence of the Euro as major competitor of the USD, it is due principally to Russian cheap energy supplied to Europe knowing very well that the energy was the determinant factor and the engine and the base of what is called the Industrial revolution at the end of the XVIII and the beginning of XIX century originated in Great Britian before its propagation in Continental Europe. Putin’s eve year speech

Through Putin’s full 2024 New Year’s Eve speech, one can feel that Russia goes through critical period and once more is facing new challenges, even the biggest challenge since the WWII, maintaining united and multiethnic Russia threatened by division and breaking up by the collective West planning to apply its previous and nefarious strategy by shattering enemy countries into pieces, according to the principle of divide and rule, towards coveted and disobedient states and peoples refusing foreign diktat as it was the case with  the USSR, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, and Syria. While the same collective West didn’t hesitate in the past and doesn’t hesitate today, to group, to unite countries and create military alliance in order to achieve its military and geopolitical goals. In 1949, the US created NATO to fight the USSR and international communism all over the world according to the Truman and Churchill doctrine and the same military alliance that should have been dissolved following promise of James Baker to Gorbachev, is still fighting Russia today. The United states didn’t hesitate to violate the laws of geography and history by creating separate and antagonistic political and economic bloc, the European Union which was at its origin, Nazi project, directed against Russia. One can observe the same strategy and trend of grouping countries for hegemonic imperatives and geopolitical goals when it comes to Asia Pacific region by forming military, economic and political blocs and alliances against China in violation of the laws of geography and history of this part of the world.

Russian retaliation to Belgorod attack

Belgorod’s terrorist attack killing 24 innocent civilians including 3 children is added to the long list of crimes committed by Kiev regime towards both its Russian speaking populations in the Donbass region and the Russian civilian populations. As it was expected, Russia would not let Belgorod terrorist unpunished as retaliatory response was not long in coming. Kiev’s terrorist attack in Belgorod is a sign of desperate regime incapable to challenge Russian armed on the battlefield, is ready to resort to any means at its disposal including terrorism and civilian mass killing and also to make believe to western sponsors that it is still fighting and will fight till the latest Ukrainian. But all these desperate attempts initiated by Kiev regime and its western sponsors would not change and would not reverse the balance of power on the battlefield as Russian armed forces engaged in the special military operation have been strengthened and adapted in way to fight not only Ukrainian armed forces at least what it’s left of it, but 50 countries. It will be expected that in the future, any Kiev attack on Russian territory will be met with harshest retaliatory measures.

Turning point in Russian-Ukraine’s war

With the fall of Marynka, this very strategic stronghold in the Donestsk People’s Republic, heavily fortified where Kiev regime shelled its own Russophone populations for years long, killing thousands of innocent civilians including children and elderly, has suffered crushing defeat, an event passed over in silence by the western mainstream media and for good reason, new crushing defeat for NATO and its supposed invincible military equipment supplied to its Ukraine’s armed forces. Bizarrely, NATO’S media did not say a word about the fall of Marynka to Russian and the DPR forces preferring instead hyping over Ukraine’s strike in Crimea. The French channel, LCI, called also the voice of Kiev regime broadcasting in French, has superbly ignored the fall of Marynka which can be considered from strict military and strategic event, a turning point on the battlefield between Russia and Ukrainian armed forces. If miraculously, the self proclaimed civilian and military pundits, carefully handpicked, paid 500 euros per night(from 9pm to 12pm), try desperately to minimize the impact of the defeat and behind the imminent defeat of Zelensky clique in Kiev as the Russian victories are looming on other places of a front stretching over 1000 km. I posted on my Facebook page photos of NATO’s military equipment captured by Russian forces and this taking of war, it will holy bread for Russian militaro industrial complex that will not fail to be closely and carefully subject to scrutiny.
